Features

One of the most talked about features on the Toshiba AC25CEW-SS is the contemporary digital LCD display with touchpad. While many high- end countertop ovens use an LCD display, most still rely on simple toggle switches to operate. Everything on the Waring Pro is on the facing touchpad and simply touching a feature activates that particular setting. Press the large start button and the item begins to cook. The appearance is very high end and high tech, but the operation is startlingly simple.

The display is large and easily read from a distance. The entire front door of the Toshiba AC25CEW-SS is glass for excellent visibility when cooking. The timer on this countertop oven allows up to 60 minutes of uninterrupted cooking time.

This countertop oven comes with one oven rack, an oven tray, a drip pan, a crumb tray and a baking pan. All of these items are not dishwasher safe and must be washed by hand. The crumb tray is safe and easy to empty to keep things from burning to it.

The Toshiba AC25CEW-SS is adept at cooking, baking, broiling and toasting. The broiling feature allows users to cook meat similar to grilling whereas the outside of the meat cooks quickly to seal the moisture in, resulting in very tender, juicy meals. The unit has a built-in fan that circulates the hot air to ensure even cooking and minimal chance of burning.

This oven is slightly smaller than the others in terms of height and depth, but still can accommodate a 12” pizza and toast up to 6 slices of bread at one time. The height is really where the Toshiba AC25CEW-SS is smaller and the result is that you can’t cook in this unit on multiple racks.

One downside of this oven is that it does not have a self-cleaning feature like many of the others. In order to clean the Toshiba AC25CEW-SS, you have to manually wipe or scrub it by hand. In addition, this unit only comes with one cooking rack, although with its slightly smaller size, it likely would be difficult to cook more than one item at a time. Finally, none of the racks and trays are dishwasher safe and must be washed by hand, which will be a downside for many people today.

Conclusion

This smaller countertop convection oven gives users a lot of bang for their buck. It is less expensive than many of the other units, but is an excellent value given its full-size oven performance.
